Swiss Turning Center: Citizen Cincom 32XII Swiss Turning Machine
This Swiss-type automatic lathe is used for straight and angled cutting and milling. This multi-axis machine can perform multiple operations for complex components without the need for separate secondary operation equipment.
Our Swiss turning machine is also equipped with a Citizen bar feeder compatible with 3/8 in. – 2 ½ in. x 12 ft. stock. This improves cycle times and material alignment in the machine, for high precision and repeatability. This machine is used with many materials including:
- Aluminum.
- Copper.
- Plastics.
- Steel (i.e., mild steel, stainless steel, tool steel).
- Titanium.
Welding and Fixture Building
Dramco provides in-house custom welding services for low- and high-volume components in small or large sizes, and thick or thin materials. Our capabilities include:
- Certified MIG and TIG contract welding.
- Weld fixture design and build services.
- High-volume welding for round components in our PLC-controlled indexer.
- Welding of aluminum, copper, steel, titanium and other materials.
Automated Sheet Material Handling Crane
Our Cranemaster 1530 is integrated with our Eagle Laser cutting machine for fully automated, efficient laser cutting projects. It can lift and position sheets up to 1 in. thick and 5 ft. by 10 ft. in size, and can run unattended 24/7. Automated material handling enables faster cycle times and quick turnaround with no negative effect on part quality or competitive pricing.
Design & Programming
Our engineers and designers work directly with our customers to understand their unique design challenges and create a solution from the ground up. We use software tools including AutoCAD, Inventor, Mastercam, Solidworks, and Top Solid to develop digital renderings and models. Many of our centers also include programming stations right on the shop floor to help projects move efficiently from CAD files to CAM work instructions. This allows us to implement changes and adjustments quickly.
Horizontal Machining: Enshu GE480
Our Enshu horizontal machining center has a work envelope of 800 mm x 800 mm x 800 mm and can process up to 3,550 in. of material per minute. It includes a second pallet and a pallet changer for streamlined, unattended overnight operation and simultaneous milling and prepping capabilities. This advanced equipment helps us consolidate tasks so you get your order on time, every time.
CNC Machining: DMU50 5-Axis Machine
Our DMG DMU50 5-axis mill integrates with TopSolid software to perform complex machining operations within a 500 mm x 500 mm x 500 mm work envelope. Because it operates on two rotational axes in addition to the three standard linear axes, it can complete some material removal tasks in fewer steps. Multi-axis machining also cuts down on part repositioning for greater accuracy and less variation. All of this reduces the complexity of set up and shortens cycle times.
Laser Welding
In-house precision laser welding services allow for continuity of production and quality because your project remains with our team the entire time. Our laser welding equipment can work with aluminum, steel, stainless, brass, copper, and other materials in many thicknesses. Laser welding is suitable for many precision projects, including mold cavity and core repair. This advanced technique results in clean and consistent welds that need little post-weld finishing.
Milling and Drilling: Hwacheon Lathe
Dramco’s Hwacheon High-Tech 230 BL lathe accommodates material diameters from ⅜ in. to 3 in. and up to 6 ft. long. The machine has a 12-position rondelle that holds 12 cutting tools on each side, along with main and sub-spindles. This means it can perform multiple operations in rapid succession on both sides of the workpiece, all in the same machine. The result is less handling of the workpiece for faster cycle times and less risk of misalignment or errors.
Comprehensive Fabrication Services
Dramco has the in-house equipment and expertise to offer full-service fabrication capabilities, including:
- Eagle 20kW and Trumpf 4kW laser cutting machines compatible with steel up to 1 in. thick, and aluminum up to ¾ in. thick.
- Trumpf press brake with 120 in. bed for material up to 1.2 in. thick.
- Omax water jet cutting center for metal stock up to 60 in. x 120 in. and 8 in. thick.
- Deburring with our Costa automatic deburring machine.
- MIG and TIG welding.
Precision Material Removal with Wire EDM
We maintain three wire EDM machines for cutting a variety of steels and other materials. This equipment is often used with hardened tool steel and carbide, which cannot be machined. Our equipment has a range of wire diameter options 0.006 in. to 0.012 in., and can perform wide angle cutting. Wire EDM machines produce precision cuts and hold extremely tight tolerances.
Large Part Milling: Haas VF11
Our Haas VF11 CNC milling machine is designed for oversized workpieces up to 120 in. x 40 in. x 30 in. It performs primary material removal operations with any of 25 different cutting tools to achieve the required part features and profiles. It also accepts fixtures for secondary operations.
Quality Laser Inspection
Our Creaform laser scanner can be used with parts up to 30 feet long and can verify tolerances within 0.001 in. We also provide Verisurf and VX Elements conformance reports. This handheld scanner checks parts and part features for the specified dimensions, angles, and accurate placement. Integrated software can also compare this scanned data with the client’s CAD file to validate the part. We can also scan a finished part or component to create digital files for reverse engineering projects.
High-speed Laser Cutting
We use our 20kW Eagle laser cutter to quickly cut through aluminum, mild steel, and stainless steel sheets up to 1 in. thick. Its laser is guided by preprogrammed work instructions for excellent accuracy, repeatability, and efficient use of material. It can even run unattended to produce high-volume orders quickly. This high speed machine can cut at a rate of up to 6,000 in. per minute (ipm), and integrates with our automated sheet metal handling crane.
